For the third International String Orchestra Festival 13^th to 17^th April 2009 we have a packed week of musical activities ranging from solo recitals to outstanding orchestral concerts which will beyond question stir the casual listener and connoissieur alike. The repertoire includes familiar works from Haydn, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Shostakovich and, Stravinsky to contemporary compositions by Dutch and Maltese composers.

Artistes of the highest calibre such as conductor Brian Schembri, violin virtuosos Carmine Lauri and Emanuel Salvador, pianist Simon Hester and, the Rotterdam Ensemble described as “one of the best chamber orchestras emerging in the Netherlands” with its principal conductor, Roberto Beltran, are gathering in Malta to give seven concerts which must not be missed.
